…as Ministry of Youth and Sports hands over assorted Sports equipment and boxes of face masks to the Provincial Administration

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has handed over Rosa Buses to Cooperatives in Muchinga Province under the Multi Sectoral Youth Empowerment Approach.

Speaking during the event, Muchinga Province Permanent Secretary Davison Mulenga said empowering youths in the transport sector will help uplift their economic livelihoods.

Captain Mulenga has since commended President Edgar Chagwa Lungu for the initiative.

“I want to applaud President Edgar Lungu for this initiative to apportion a big chunk of youth funds amidst challenges the country is facing. President Lungu’s government means well, it does not just talk but it acts,” Capt Mulenga said.

During the same event, the Ministry also donated assorted Sports equipment and face masks to the Provincial Administration.

And Capt Mulenga is elated with the donation of sports equipment and face masks to people in the province.

“We have reports that the province has recorded a reduction in new cases and we hope these masks will help reduce new admissions,” he said.

Meanwhile, Director Youth in the Ministry Cade Chikobo is hopeful that equipment given to youths will play an important role in addressing transport challenges in Muchinga.

Mr Chikobo said more youth cooperatives would be empowered with fuel tankers to improve their cash flow.

“The President is concerned with the welfare of the youth.

We are here to see to it that youths who applied for the tankers and buses sign for them and get them,” Mr Chikobo said.

Meanwhile, Director of Sports John Zulu said the donated sports Items will help youths in the Province improve on their talent and refrain from engaging in illicit activities.
