..as ANDD appeals to the leadership of the UPND to call out the violence in their party.
Advocates for National Development and Democracy (ANDD) has commended President Edgar Chagwa Lungu for bringing in the army to help police between now and the elections to maintaine peace and order.
ANDD executive director Samuel Banda says the decision to allow the army to work with the Zambia Police is critical to ensure a peaceful and violent free election.
He has noted that the escalation in violence being perpetrated by the UPND should not be allowed to take root in our country.
“We would also like to appeal to the leadership of the UPND Hakainde Hichilema to call out the violence in his party for the sake of peace” Mr Banda demanded.
He said it is understandable that it is a crucial election for Mr Hichilema but his ambitions should not endanger the peace that has been built and enjoyed since independence.
