The Barotse Royal Establishment in Sioma district has condemned the political violence that erupted in the area and saw the suspension of an independent candidate from campaigns by the ECZ.

Senior Chief Lukama IV who spoke when PF Presidential running mate Professor Nkandu Luo and her campaign team paid a courtesy call on him at his Kaunga Mashi Palace in Sioma, said there is need for peaceful campaigns ahead of the next week’s General elections.

Senior Chief Lukama IV commended the quick action by law enforcement in curbing the further escalation of violence.

And Senior Chief Lukama IV thanked Professor Nkandu Luo for the developmental projects she initiated while serving as Livestock and Fisheries Minister.

He said a lot of women groups and youths benefited from the empowerment of livestock.

” Your visit is a true and clear sign of love and trust in the Kuuta and the Royal Establishment and it is a great honor,” Senior Chief Lukama said.

” We appreciate various developmental projects you initiated as Minister of Fisheries and Livestock. Empowering of women and youths with livestock has been of great help,” The traditional leader said.

And PF Presidential running mate Professor Nkandu Luo said the ruling party hopes to get maximum support from the Royal Establishment.

Professor Luo said PF and President Lungu deserve to be given another mandate to govern the country.

She said there is no part in the country that has not received a share of the national cake.

” We appreciate the partnership between Barotse Royal Establishment and the PF.

To avoid voter apathy, lets work together in mobilizing people so that all registered voters turn up to vote on August 12,” Professor Luo said.

And Professor Luo also bemoaned the levels of violence the country has experienced prior to the August 12 General elections.

” The country has not experienced violence to the level it is today.

The UPND are planning more violence and I urge people to vote early and move in numbers to avoid being attacked,” Professor Luo said.
